Casa Gonzales in Rheine

Great ambience and tasty food ... it's really fun to dine there with the clique ... sometimes at rush hour you have to wait a bit for your food ... but the tequila comes quickly :-)

We have had a very good experience with Casa Gonzales. Very friendly staff, really delicious food and very short waiting time for pick up. Thanks a lot for this. We were completely satisfied and will definitely be back soon!

The food always tastes great on site. But today we ordered once and it was absolutely shabby. Ordered at 5 o'clock and delivery was scheduled for half past 8. The meal came an hour late, cold and one dish was missing. Not again. Remorseful ...

Food was over an hour late, one dish was missing and the food was cold. Really disappointing. Often eaten there but that was definitely the last time !!!!

When we opened in 1992, we were at Casa Gonzales for the first time. I knew Tex-Mex Food from numerous trips to the USA (Texas, California). The Casa Gonzales offers a good selection of well-known dishes of the Tex-Mex cuisine as it is often served in the USA. Enchiladas, fajitas, burritos, tacos, etc. We have been coming here regularly since 1992. So far we have never been disappointed.

We loved the restaurant so cozy. The food was delicious, the service was very, very nice We weren't there for the last time.

Food is tasty and plentiful. Staff friendly and attentive. You only have to be familiar with the place to park.

Very nice and harmonious interior and nice staff. Food comes quickly and tastes great. No matter what I've eaten there so far, it tasted great. Everything has a little sharp note, but is not too sharp either. Exactly what you would expect from a good Mexican. Absolute recommendation from me ??

The spare ribs weren't really tender, for me they must be easy to remove from the bone. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The dip served with it was only spicy, but nothing more.

Service was very friendly. Food was mediocre. This is also definitely not traditional Mexican food. The decoration inside is nice and they have an outside patio.

Unfortunately, this time it was not so good. Everything much too seasoned and partly fried dead. Hopefully it will get better next time. But the service was great as always.

The starter was ok, then unfortunately the main course came with chewy meat, whether pork or poultry, and there was also quite fluffy rice. It tasted much better there in the past.

We were there for 6 people. Very nice and friendly staff. It was often asked whether everything was OK, whether something was missing. Requests were met and all food and drinks were delicious. We always like to come back.

Was very tasty as always, although we had reserved a table at short notice with limited time, we were not rushed and were even allowed to order spare ribs again. A very friendly and quick service. Very recommendable whether for two or as a group. Is and remains our favorite Mexican.

Attitude from the waitress was shockingly bad. Poor menu which only gives fajitas for 2 people at 26 euros no option to have a 1 person portion for the stated price on the menu of 13 euro. Ordered starters and a beer and left before main as it was dismal service. Avoid!

Fantastic salsa sauce accompaying the nachos (and it's on the house!) Splendid tomato soup Awesome chimichangas con carne!!! Warning: big servings, great smiley staff :) Average price pp: 24€ excl. Alcoholic drinks

This place will be on my list of places to go on a regular basis. As a Texan living in Germany, I was sincerely missing certain flavor profiles and spices. I was pleasantly surprised by the food here. The service is really good, the atmosphere actually resembles a mexican food restaurant, the food is good. For english speakers, there are people that speak English here. As an fyi, if you go for lunch, there is only one thing that is served. The dish changes each day that lunch is served. There is a parking garage on the first right after you pass the restaurant and it is a very short walk to the restaurant. I will take photos next time and add them to this review. I also want to add....there have been reviewers stating that this is not Mexican food. Mexico does not have one type of food. It is as diverse as any other country with multiple influences and heritages. What most people call Mexican food in the u.s is actually Tex-Mex. It cannot be compared to food from the Yucatan or anywhere else in Mexico. Also, you are in Germany. This food is a reasonable facsimile to Mexican food. It follows the spice and flavor profiles. I for one, am very glad it is available here. The only big change i would really say is needed is serving salted corn chips with a homemade salsa as opposed to picante sauce and flavored corn chips.
